Forbes Features FluidLogic Hydration As A New Competitive Edge For NASCAR Racers Like Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

From Forbes.com

Forbes ran an article focusing on how the FluidLogic hydration system has helped racers like Ricky Stenhouse Jr. stay focused and how the product is changing how racers think of hydration and its effects on their performance.

The article explains how the FluidLogic system is mounted in the vehicle, eliminating the need for water bottles and having a crewmember swap out the bottle during a pit stop. Stenhouse has used the system for the past three years, and according to the article, likes the "smart" features of the FluidLogic system.

The ability to program how much, and when, to deliver water to the driver takes the effort out of hydration during racing applications, according to FluidLogic's CEO and founder Ed Jaegar of Rainmaker Solutions Inc.  This can all be done through a smartphone app, and the system delivers water through the driver's in-helmet fresh-air hose.

The Bryan Herta Autosport Team Wins IMSA Mid-Ohio Race Using FluidLogic In Its #98 Hyundai Elantra N TCR

The Bryan Herta Autosport racing team with Hyundai Motor America earned a victory at the 2021 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Mid-Ohio on May 17th. Parker Chase and 2020 IMPC Champion Ryan Norman drove the #98 Elantra N TCR, through the two-hour race, but utilized the FluidLogic hydration system installed in their car to help them stay hydrated and focused on the challenging course. "I battled for the lead from the start at Mid-Ohio,” said Chase. “It was an important day winning for the first time with the all-new Elantra N TCR. The Mid-Ohio race was intense. It's a busy track in that it is relatively short, but has a lot of topography and challenging corners. Throw in 60 or more cars racing each other in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and it gets busy. FluidLogic helped us get to the victory circle for the win!"

A mid-race caution allowed the team to change tires and perform a mandatory driver change in which Norman managed to pass the leader, Copeland Motorsport’s #27 Hyundai Veloster, for the win. "FluidLogic made all the difference for me in the tough conditions at Mid-Ohio,” said Norman. “ In challenging conditions, FluidLogic’s ability to keep me hydrated definitely gave me a competitive edge."

The FluidLogic hydration system delivers fluid through the driver’s air-hose which is connected via the Maglock Air magnetic coupler that is easy to connect and makes for faster driver changes. The system delivers fluid to the Aquacom silicone nozzle that slips over the driver’s in-helmet microphone. A steering wheel micro button with an integrated LED reminds the driver when to drink via a programmable mobile ap. The driver presses the button to take a drink and stays properly hydrated. “FluidLogic has worked with motorsports specific doctors who have performed many studies on hydration, and determined that athletes performed better when taking short bursts of water more frequently, during intense activity,” says Ed Jaeger, FluidLogic CEO. “The FluidLogic system removes the thought process of when to drink, and allows racers to remain focused on their driving, rather than struggling to find a drinking tube.”

The FluidLogic “smart” hydration system is the fastest-growing hydration delivery system in motorsports. Racers joining the #HydrationNation by using the FluidLogic system coupled with the Maglock magnetic coupler on their helmets have earned numerous victories. FluidLogic components have more than five years of testing and development, enduring the most extreme racing conditions from the dust and heat of Baja to the Brickyard at Indianapolis.
